It was now obvious to the Everton directors that in order to make progress, an enclosed ground was needed all the major lancashire teams have done this. Everton approached a certain Mr.William Cruitt who lived on Priory Road. His house overlooking Stanley Park. Mr Cruitt agrreed, for a nominal rent which we believe is a hundred pound a year and for the first time the public would have to pay to see Everton play however fans were reluctant to pay and kept away from the ground and then having crowds of no more then 500 hundred people, Everton moved to Priory Road to their first football enclosure and also changing there jerseys from the Black Watch to lighted blue and white quatered jerseys. Everton failed to attract any major football club, Leaving Everton in a finacial mess, However a silverlining to the season were they won their first trophy of the history in the Local Senior Cup beating Earlestown 1-0 Parry scoring the winner.
