Everton finishing a respectable 7th in the league, the top goal scorer Crossley scoring 15 and Robert Parker scoring 11 leaving Everton needing a centre forward for the following season. Though Robert Parker in my account was just as good as the future Tommy Lawton he was never the same player after being injured during the great war when he was badly wounded from the Italian artillery shell. His pace was no longer his and this was the greatest injustice for such a brave lionhearted man.
